Consort made it’s first ice cream delivery in 1987. Since then Consort has grown to encompass a large range of frozen and ambient products delivering to over 10,000 national and local businesses in the Southeast of England.

 

We are an ice cream wholesaler, frozen food wholesaler, frozen food distributor and ice cream distributor.

 

As the southeast member of First4Frozen (F4F) we supply national accounts with a selection of frozen lines.

In 1989 we opened the doors on our second depot at Ashford in Kent to cater for the Kent coastline. They now look after all of our distribution in London south of the river Thames.

 

In 1998 in association with Link Buying Group we expanded our ambient distribution to encompass a full range of soft drinks and confectionery lines. In 2005 we took over responsibility for their local distribution and we grew our confectionery and soft drinks customer base to approximately 1600 accounts covering Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Middlesex, Berkshire, Surrey and London. In September 2008 we joined Sugro buying group which empowered us with more competitive pricing and added a considerable number of deals to our monthly promotional brochure.

 

In 2006 we purchased our depot in Stratford delivering purely frozen goods in and around the M25. In 2009 we were moved to Woodford as our depot was situated within javelins throw of where the Olympic Stadium was to be built.

 

Across our business we have up to 30 telesales staff responsible for order taking and selling over the phone during peak season. To support them we now have 18 field sales staff who maintain and develop our large customer base.

Our core value is embodied through serving our customers needs to the best of our abilities. We are dedicated to delivering the required goods in each week and within 48 hours maximum of a scheduled order irrespective of profitability. 99% of our ice cream deliveries are completed on a next day basis.

 

Our current aim is to generate as much information and awareness in the market place for best practices in trading. We focus on service for our customers and couple this with what we hope are a competitive and rewarding price structure and calendar of promotions.

 

We send out a monthly promotions brochure to approximately 5,000 independent accounts which features new products and deals provided by suppliers. This is complimented by this website which is an ongoing work in progress.

 

Through working with suppliers we look to develop our business and that of our customers. We always work together and look for support to achieve this.
