Young’s Appoints New Sales Director From Morrisons
Seafood giant Young’s has announced the appointment of Frank Green as Sales Director for its frozen retail business. Green, previously head of seafood for Morrisons, will be based at Ross House, the hub of Young’s frozen and branded operations, and will start on 7 April. He will report directly to Wayne Hudson, Managing Director of the frozen division.
It is a return to the seafood giant for Green, who has many years’ experience of running commercial seafood operations, and held a number of senior sales roles across the frozen and chilled categories of Young’s in a decade with the firm up to 2009, when he joined the supermarket group. It became the only one of the big four retailers to vertically integrate seafood production when it opened a plant on Europarc in 2012.
Green will replace current Sales Director for frozen Liam Pickup, who will leave Young’s at the end of May “to pursue career opportunities within commutable distance of his home location.”
The appointment comes as the company comes to terms with the resignation of Leendert den Hollander, Chief Executive, earlier this month, having taken a new role outside of seafood. James Hill, Chief Executive of Young’s Seafood’s parent company, Findus Group, is taking on the merged role.
Commenting on the appointment, Hudson said: “I am pleased that we have managed to attract someone of Frank Green’s calibre. His all-round experience and passion for seafood will be a huge asset to our company.”
Morrisons has not yet announced who will replace Green within its seafood team.
