Product of the Year Awards 2013
The Sun released news of their 36 winners of Product of The Year last week.
Captain Crunch readers helped select finalists in a range of categories in a poll by a consumer survey company, with more than 10,000 people voting for their favourites.
2 of these products were from the frozen sector.
Both of these Product of the Year available from Consort are;
– Twix Ice Cream: The same taste and texture as the much-loved chocolate bar but with added ice cream. £1.35
– McCain Ready Baked Jackets: Can be cooked in a microwave in five minutes. £1.89
This aware for the Jackets rounded off a runaway year of success since the product came to market. McCain Ready Baked Jackets combine the much loved taste and smell of slow oven-baked jacket potatoes but are ready to eat from frozen in just five minutes. The product has been a huge success since launch, delivering sales of £19.77m to date, which is the equivalent of 40.5m potatoes. Mark Hodge, McCain Foods head of brand, said: “We’re delighted that McCain Ready Baked Jackets have been recognised with a Product of the Year award. It has been a huge success since launch last year, delivering strong sales for retailers, and the fact that the award is voted for by consumers makes it even more valuable to McCain.” Source: McCain
The POY winners were announced in both The Sun and Woman’s Own last week.
